Blackbird plays ball game
with the rising Autumn sun
~End of season match~

December in bloom,
kissed by winds from the Azores:
Jack Frost in exile.

Father Christmas wilts
and casts his clothes from the sleigh:
yearns for good old days.

Sky wears waning moon…
a wedding band part-hidden,
all shine, no craters.

Faux platinum moon
rests against midnight velvet
in a box of hope.

Smooth feathers, pond-drift,
so remote from Black Friday.
What then, your swan song?

Ghost feathers trick eye …
