You have a lovely garden. Mine’s not nearly as pretty this year. Well, it’s never as pretty as yours, but particularly so this year.

Thank you, Allie 🙂 I would recommend flower pots with tuberous begonias in brilliant colours. They make the plainest of gardens light up, and the snails hate them. Also, geraniums are just the ticket. Not much work required, other than remembering to water them!

Glad you like my garden, Carla. My roses aren’t as splendid as I would like them to be, though, as they’re not too keen on the salt air. Gardening is a challenge here, also, because we’re on chalk. I seem to have succeeded keeping my blue hydrangeas from turning pink, by putting them in a pot and burying lots of rusty nails in the compost. So far, so good.

Here in Washington, where we are visiting my folks, the hydrangeas are giant, due to the moisture. We are not far from salt air either, but the plenteous rain seems to take care of the flowers. My bonus dad is a passionate gardener; however, due to aging, aches and pains, his usually pristine garden is a little ragged right now. He has some light peach colored roses next to the front porch, which are lovely in the afternoon sun as it peeks through the clouds. Happy gardening!

Thank you 🙂 I love my garden. It’s my sanctuary. Also, my work desk overlooks it, which encourages me not to get square eyes at my computer.

I had to move my desk away from my view to focus.

My optician told me that if I didn’t make myself look away from my computer into the distance at frequent intervals, my eyesight would get worse and worse. So my excuse is that the position of my desk is under medical orders! If I was overlooking a road with people coming and going, then I would get distracted. Noise, rather than visuals, is what stops me working, especially the sound of talking or music. Birds can sing away to their hearts’ content, though. The only bird that gets told off by me sometimes, is a magpie, as it makes a very grating, repetitive sound when it’s in a strop with other birds.

A prescription to look out at the view. I love that.
