I absolutely adore the look of roses, as well as their scent. So not only do I feel compelled to photograph them, but also to bury my nose in their centres for a full sensory experience. It’s just as well I don’t suffer from pollen allergies!

As a child, I remember a whole corner of our garden given over to large old-fashioned English roses. There was also an archway with pink climbing roses, as well as wild dog-roses in our boundary hedge. You can imagine I was quite sent (scent) by them.
