#Tanka 47 — Sleeping Snails

Snail shells, ornate,
laid bare in February,
their seals intact.
Succulent shoots break cover;
gastropod heaven ascends.

  1. The title made me smile, my friend. Your playful nature shines through there, and I love it. So much more than just a tanka.

    I hope you are well and that winter is treating you gently.

    Hugs from rainy, dreary Olympia!

    1. I’m pleased you loved it. Thank you, dear Bill 🙂
      I’m coming out of my sealed shell ahead of the snails! This week I made a “To Do” list and have done three-quarters of the things on it already. That is progress. I also nipped over to Amazon and had a “Look Inside” a certain person’s memoir! Excellent stuff. On my reading list definitely. Will visit you over at yours now, and comment further on your publication post.

      Hugs from the greyish-blue, 7 degrees centigrade, UK SE coast. The violets and primroses are in bloom, so no complaints.

    1. Dear Rochelle,

      Thanks. Yes, I’m alive and well (apart from ongoing tooth treatment that never seems to end). Indeed, girl time would be good. I’ll just see how the land lies next week with the rest of the family and various exigencies that are ongoing. Maybe I can manage Thursday or Friday (my pm/your am). Perhaps you could liaise with Dale and let me know when you’re both free.

      All best wishes,
      Sarah
