#Tanka 34 — In Memoriam

Words in a tangle,
the rose so perfect now gone;
she, whom we cherished.
Her petals drift heavenward
into the hands of angels.

    1. Thank you, Leigh 🙂 She was a very special person — one of those rare humans who was as near to being a saint as you could find on this earth. Her loss is very sudden and everyone is devastated. I’ve taken most of the day trying to express how I feel in words, but my head remains in a tangle.

    1. It has been a mixture — some good and some bad, I’ve just had a painful reminder of how important it is to treasure each moment as if it were your last, and not to put off until tomorrow what you should do today.
      We usually have lovely weather where I live, often right into mid-October. I remember it was 70 degrees F on my son’s 6th birthday in the middle of that month! What a day out it was. As part of his treat, he fed the penguins at the zoo (a nice zoo, might I add, where the animals have plenty of space and are cared for exceedingly well).

      1. Well I’m sorry for your loss. My best friend for fifty years is dying of cancer. He is in town for his last visit and it is a mixture of joy seeing him and pain of seeing him.

      2. Fifty years is a very long time to know and love someone, and then lose him. But this last visit of your best friend is so important for both of you. Yes it will hurt. but cherish every moment of it and say all the things that you mean to say while you have the chance. Love and hugs to you, dear Bill x

    1. I’m trying not to think of autumn, or rather the months that follow it. According to the weather maps today, the rain was meant to fall on my town, big-time, but then somehow missed it by a whisker and fell on all the surrounding towns instead! …note how the power of positive thinking can work 😉 xxxxxxxxx
