Monday Morning #Haiku 161 — Green (2)

Plethora of greens
Embrace the dryad in you
Breathe that verdancy

    1. Dear Rochelle,

You just have to think of all those cold grey months to appreciate that heat now! We’re having some sunny days, but there has been a continuous cool wind for the last week, and on one occasion a howling gale that tipped over all my pot plants overnight but without any lasting damage. I have some African violets in my house, too. They’re very pretty plants.

Most of the weekend, I’ve been out of doors, which has done me some good but made me even more behind than I was before.

I’m glad you liked the haiku 🙂 That photo was taken in the woods at the top of the road where I live.

      All best wishes,
      Sarah

  1. Where I live is called The Evergreen State because of our abundance of firs and cedars…..green for everyone, all year…this haiku should be the state haiku….you are entertaining and talented, a very nice combination.

    1. Such a coincidence of timing, considering we live across the Pond from each other … while I was off visiting your blog, with its lovely green background, you were busy commenting on my green haiku! The greenery in my photo is mostly deciduous. I’m not sure that there are any fir trees in those woods but further up on the download slopes, there are a few conifers. Hey! Perhaps someone will commission me for a state haiku. Wouldn’t that be fun? I think the US and the UK need a “state” something at the moment that has nothing to do with politicians and stands for greenness of a positive rather than negative kind.

    1. It is so, so, so green where I live. I have green walls in the room where I work and my desk is at a big window overlooking a garden with every shade of green foliage, plus lots of bright flowers, and then there are some houses behind me, with the woodland trees towering over them. Lots of birds and wildlife visit from the woods, too, but no dryads yet xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    1. Hi, nice to meet you, too, Ka 🙂 Dryads are so cool. My daughter used to spend many hours climbing trees and pretending she was a dryad in the hope that she would become one. I also used to date a fellow that was a bit of a tree-hugger and liked to commune with dryads. He was a bit strange, but anything is better than boring.
