Honeybee sunbathes,
double petal daffodil
its yellow lilo.

    1. Dear Rochelle,
      There’s a sea mist here today, but there’s sunshine forecast for this afternoon. I have walked the dog but not very far, as I’ve caught a cold despite all our sunshine. As usual, I think it was one of my fellow singers who was being generous with his germs. I’m not feeling too ill, but sound like a bass rather than a soprano today!

    The sun is blazing here… as in blinding off the still-present snow…sigh. At least we are seeing patches of grass!

    1. It’s very pretty the snow when the sun shines off it. I remember the photos my daughter took in Norway. They were just beautiful.
      Thanks for your good wishes. I’m feeling rather grotty today, as I have a really irritating cough and a headache. I certainly can’t concentrate on editing my book today, which is frustrating, as I’m on the homeward stretch.

    1. There are so many different names for things between the two sides of the Pond. I hadn’t appreciated this, until I started blogging and publishing on Amazon. This was why I had a US beta reader for both novels published so far. She’s too busy to do it with my next novel, but I’m going to submit to UK publishers first before going down the indie route, so it’s not relevant at this stage.
      By the way, thank you so, so much for that fabulous review of Noah Padgett. It really cheered me up. By the way, you’re not the first person to point out the parallel between Percival Poodle and a certain person!

  8. Oooh, so pretty! I haven’t heard of a double-petaled daffodil, but I like it! The haiku taught me something, too. 🙂 I love the daffodils – one of the first flowers of spring – like a bright greeting from the dreary gray days of winter. 🙂

  9. So pretty! Hope your cold has passed, Sarah. Here in my region of Southern California it is 87 degrees Fahrenheit, and I have to wear my sunglasses to shield from the bright sunshine almost every day lately. We have even used our air conditioner twice so far! I love thinking of you walking the dog in the sea mist. How lovely. I miss my dog, and I miss the sea, though I am only an hour from it. Must see it soon.

    1. Wow! 87 degrees Fahrenheit. I suppose I’m glad I don’t have to use air conditioning, as I always get a wheezy chest after being in a public building with air conditioning. Maybe it’s the chemicals they have to use to keep the system purified that do this to me. But I do love the heat, although 80 degrees tops. As for sunglasses, I have to wear them outside whenever it’s sunny and whatever time of the year, as I have very light-sensitive eyes. It runs in the family.

      1. Yes, the air conditioner noise is not pleasant either, but here in the heat, it helps us to stay comfortable! I am sensitive to light as well. Since I am so often at Starbucks with my laptop waiting for my husband to finish his classes, I always seem to be the one who is pulling down the blinds, asking everyone if they mind, and so far no one has. All best to you for a great weekend!

      2. I’m always the one who asks if people mind me opening the window, whether it’s in a public building or on public transport. I find it very difficult being packed in with lots of strangers and not enough fresh air to breathe. Thank you for your good wishes for the weekend. It’s beautifully sunny here today — about 68 degrees F and rising. There’s a slight sea mist that still needs to disperse. It’s on with the gardening gloves this afternoon! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too.

      3. Enjoy your gardening, Sarah! It’s a little misty and overcast here today too, and we had a light rain during the night. My sage bush is blooming, lovely bright coral pink blossoms! I don’t have much of a garden, living in a condo, just a few planters on the patio, but I enjoy them. Love your photos of the flowers.
