Noah Padgett and the Dog-People: Now Available as an Audiobook

noah-audio-book-cover-72dpi

Several weeks ahead of schedule, I’m happy to announce that the audiobook version of my middle-grade children’s novel Noah Padgett and the Dog-People is now available to buy, or listen to for free with an Audible trial.

I admit to not having tested this out myself yet, but apparently you can download the audiobook via Amazon or direct from Audible onto your smartphone, tablet, or mp3 player. If you are interested to learn more, all the relevant links are at the end of this post.

You can listen to an audio clip from the book on Amazon (an excerpt from Chapter 4:  Mad Psychiatrists and an Obsession with White). You will just love the actress narrator, Mil Nicholson, and her interpretation of my book, complete with the characters’ voices. Indeed, there’s a big treat in store, as shortly I will be posting an interview of Mil here, on my blog.

Other things to look forward to in the next few weeks, are fun interviews of my literary characters, which may include audio clips from my book, if I can get my head around the technicalities of this.

You can check out my audiobook and listen to an audio clip at
Amazon (UK)  &  Amazon (US) or on Audible (UK) & Audible (US)

    1. Now to get people to buy copies! Audible are sending me some links to send to people, so they can have a listen of the whole audiobook for free in exchange for honest reviews. I have a few takers, but all adults. It would be good to find some children to review it, too, via their parents, grandparents, carers, or teachers. Let me know, Andrea, if you have any ideas, or know anybody who could do this.

    1. I posted the book’s details, plus an excerpt for an audition, on acx.com and Mil was one of the people who contacted me. Her audition was great, with all those voices and accents that seemed to flow out of her so easily without sounding forced. And she’s proved a gem to work with, showing such enthusiasm for the project.

      1. It must be an absolute thrill to hear all your characters like actors in a play. I have a feeling this will really grab the younger readership for which it is intended. What can be better than dogs talking? I don’t know too many people with young children, but there are a few from FB I think with a few, and then there are the grandchildren of course. When the link is up and ready, I’ll post it there and see if that gets any takers 🙂 xxxx

      2. The link itself isn’t something that I can’t post, as it’s like 15 author copies that acx.com will send me to email to individuals for them to review. I’ll post here and on FB when the links have arrived, then perhaps you could be a darling, dear friend and share the post 🙂 xxxx

      3. Ahh…got it! And yes, of course, I will share your post, just give me a head’s up when it’s ready to go…but I’ll be visiting anyway 🙂 xxxx

  1. Hi Sarah as an audiobook blogger I find it helpful if authors setup
a SoundCloud account and put an excerpt of the audiobook on there. That way when a review is done they can access the clip and actually embed it into their review post! It can also send the listener directly to Audible to download the book if they like what they hear. Good luck audiobooks are awesome!

    1. Hi Elsie, Thanks for that info. That’s really helpful. I’m waiting on Android releasing the app so I can do some clips, but any recommendations as to how I could get a clip done more quickly, would be most welcome. I’m sort of stuck at the moment, waiting on this and that. Audible haven’t sent me the 25 free promo codes and so I’ve just had to chase them up about it. Are there lots of audiobook bloggers, and are any of them happy to do reviews? I used to listen to loads of audiobooks that I borrowed on cassette tapes from the library. Hee-hee, How vintage is that? 🙂 It’s now my intention to start listening to them again on my more up-to-date equipment!

      1. Just keep bugging Audible, squeaky wheel gets the oil. There are a few of us who specialize in audiobook reviews. I have a list and I’ll post it on my author/narrator review request page tonight, you’re not the only one who has asked! If you have a computer you can set up a SoundCloud account on that, I find it easier than using the mobile app anyway. All the audiobook bloggers I know have a waiting list, but I’ll put you on my list and I’ll slip you in when your codes arrive.

        Take care

      2. Hi Lynda (sorry, I called you Elsie in my last comment!), I now have my codes. Do you want me to send you a synopsis (with spoilers), or just send you a copy of the Amazon Description? The only audio sample I have at the moment is the one on my Amazon page, which is an excerpt from Ch 4. Are you happy for me to email just the code? Are you based in the US or the UK? Obviously my codes are for the UK, although I’ve used a code that a US author sent to me, and have managed to download his audiobook from the US site.
Thanks for all the info and adding the other reviewers’ links to your blog.
        All the best
        Sarah

      3. Hi Lynda, I’ll email tomorrow, as it’s logging off time now (hungry family to feed). Can you confirm, was it just the code you want, plus a link to my amazon product page?
        Thanks.
        Sarah
