My Daughter’s Weekend Trip to Bergen in Norway

I’m really excited that my daughter, Vanessa, has agreed to share her wonderful photos ofย a recent weekend she spent in Bergen with her beloved Mark. The pictures come complete with her fun commentary!

This was the sausage shack where they had lots of different types of random sausages. Mark spent the majority of the weekend wanting a reindeer sausage from here. Eventually I gave in and even tried some myself. It was yum and they had a special redcurrant sauce that came with it.

Beautiful ice.

Winter wonderland at the top of the mountain. This was the first time I had ever seen real snow (as we all know in England we don’t have it!). I have literally never been quite as excited and poor Mark had to deal with the brunt of this with copious snow balls in the face. His beard was positively Santa like by the end, haha!

  1. Great photos. What a beautiful place. The mention of Mark’s snowy beard made me laugh. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Gorgeous Sarah and that’s a great photo of the two of them. We used to be able to catch the ferry to Bergen 5 minutes from where I live, so we went a few times – it’s a beautiful city – though I never went in the snow ๐Ÿ™‚

    • How wonderful, being able to catch the ferry across to such a place! I was hoping Vanessa & Mark would see the Northern lights during their trip but apparently it was too far south, although I’m sure that sometimes the lights can be seen at that latitude.

  5. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos, Sarah. Looks like they had a great time. I’m not sure I could try reindeer sausage. Reminds me a little of a Nigella recipe – ‘Rudolph Pie’ which she recommended serving to the whole family on Christmas Eve!

    • I’ve never been to Norway, either, but I’m sure my daughter wouldn’t have wanted Mum along on her romantic weekend with her beloved! Nice to meet you, too. Thank you for visiting and following ๐Ÿ™‚
