Primroses galore
decorate woodland rises,
filling hearts with song.

Beautiful Sarah, I actually saw my first wild primroses yesterday on a walk to one of our parks – I’d never been a fan of the cultivated variety, but these ones are so much more delicate.

Yes, I prefer the wild primroses and am lucky enough to have those, rather than the cultivated variety, in my garden. Not long before the bluebells come out in my garden, too.

Beautiful this Sarah. I love wild primroses, lovely photo and your haiku is so delicate and pretty too, capturing perfectly the joy of seeing them growing in the woods. I remember always seeing them when I was growing up and picking some for my mum when I was out and about, but not so many these days it seems which is so sad. I’ve seen some this year which is better than none 🙂 xxxxx

Sherri, I feel very lucky living on the edge of a National Park as this affords the wild flowers extra protection. Some of the fields on the slopes are amazing in the Summer — cowslips, cornflowers, vetch, poppies, and all manner of other floral delights, plus all the butterflies that are attracted to them.
The woodland where I took that photo, really did have primroses galore 🙂 xxxxx

The last line is perfect – coincidently, that last line mentions a song and I am listening to music at the time (‘Strange Fruit’ by Billie Holiday)

I just visited YouTube to hear the song by Billie Holiday. What a wonderful mellow voice she has, so suited to jazz and blues. So glad you mentioned her 🙂

I saw some more today, shrouded in mist this time. They still filled my heart with song!
