Many thanks to Cindy Knoke for her kind permission that I use this image to inspire and partner my Monday Morning haiku for this week.

You can see her further amazing shots of Californian desert flowers at http://cindyknoke.com/2015/03/16/anza-borrego-desert-wildflowers/.

      1. Yes I did Sarah, but the time I remember the most was crossing the Mojave Desert sitting in the back of a Plymouth Dodge muscle car with friends, driving from LA to Las Vegas with Aerosmith riffing through the 8 track. A long time ago… 1979 😉

  2. “Pink gymslips” is a beautiful coinage, Sarah, not to mention the gorgeous alliteration (assonance; and how it buttresses the overall personification of the flowers) of it driving the haiku. Cindy’s photo is lovely as well.

    1. Thank you, Leigh. I always love your in-depth analysis of my work. If somebody asked me to describe why I’ve written something a certain way, I’d be hard-pushed to answer them, but you do just brilliantly on my behalf. And, yes, Cindy’s photo is lovely, as are all of her other ones of flowers, birds, and nature in general.
