I don’t think I’ve ever seen green slime coming out of a tree before Sarah. Very inventive post with the pics and Haiku telling the story of this ‘alien’ invasion 😉

Although it looks like it’s slime coming out of the tree, it’s actually that slime has besieged the remaining bracket fungus. Anyway, Sherri, I’m glad you liked the story of the ‘alien’ invasion 🙂

Ahh, yes, of course…that colour though…nature truly is fascinating 🙂

I love all these haiku, but the bracket one is possibly my favorite, with how easily you link language with grammar with punctuation with nature. Wow! Amazing photos, too. Now I know the name of those fungi (thank you, Sarah). Great work all around.

Thank you, Leigh 🙂 I have a few more fungi pictures, although I’ve got to find out their names before posting.

I don’t know whether to be sad or happy for the tree stump. 😕

Maybe happy for the fungi, but not so happy for the surrounding gardens if that honey fungus spreads. I’m glad the person who owns that tree stump isn’t my neighbour.
When we had a rotten apple tree, Mister wrestled with it and pulled it out of the ground, roots and all. He said that lots of people cut trees down to stumps and then wonder why they haven’t the leverage of a decent height of trunk to hang on to, for pulling out the roots. Also, no roots left behind, mean honey fungus is less likely.

Those ones are just scouts. Wait until the mothership arrives, bearing an army of teenage mutant fungi!

Oh boy!! Better book us on the next voyager mission to Jupiter’s moons. I wonder what kind of music teenage fungi will like to play! Probably some kind of grunge!
