My music passion for September is Dans la forêt de Septembre (In the forest of September), sung here by Mario Hacquard (Baritone), accompanied by Célimène Daudet on the piano. The music is by Gabriel Fauré (1845 – 1924) and the lyrics from a poem by Catulle Mendès.
You can read the poem’s translation from French to English at http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/get_text.html?TextId=11103. This translation is under strict copyright, so I can’t copy it into this blog post. The words are melancholy, beautiful, and well worth a read to set off the mood of the music.

Wishing you all a joyous Autumn or Spring Equinox on 22nd September, depending upon which side of the globe you live!
