Tanka: #one

Summer breeze catches
party balloons on a gate:
a hint of thunder.
Sticky kids crammed in marquee
with one useless magician.

  1. oh THAT is clever! ..though the picture makes it more obvious…I don’t know much about tanka but this is…magic! The useless magician with his magic wand…the storm brewing…

      1. It’s possibly one of occasions when the writer knows what she’s thinking, but to others she’s being abstruse. I’ve just penned another tanka, having been inspired by something I found moving this morning. I’ll post it soon, but as for whether I’ve lowered the bar enough, we’ll see!
